Chapter 10: Got to have faith.

While Ana and Zander had just fallen asleep......

And Vett looks like he will never wake........

Little Miss Insomnia is wide awake playing in her bed.  Fluffy her toy bunny has been keeping her awake at all hours speaking to her about all these faeries she must find to help bunny land! Really important at 2 am.

Ana is slowly teaching her the skills she needs as a toddler.  They grow to fast, she wants to keep her little girl..... little for as long as she can.  It wont be long before she goes back to work, she just can't bare leaving her kids now.  Life is so cruel sometimes.

Meanwhile Lady Muck is busy frolicking in the grass, when she is not off hunting for treasure that is.

Lady meets Vett when he gets home.  Vett does not want a bar of it. "DAAAAAD" he yells "THERE IS FLEES ON LADY, I DONT WANT THEM EATING MY BRAIN TOO".

Zander comes out to the path and looks at Lady. "Time for a bath I think."

Lady does not like that plan.

Ana helps as much as she can with Vetts homework.  It all seems much harder since she was there last.  Vett is proud that he can teach his home new things too.  But really he just wants to head outside and play with the flee (no longer brain eating) Dog.

So while Kiwi is in bed, and Vett it outside playing with Lady, Ana takes this an her que.

"So, I know you built this house from scratch and I really, really love it.  But Dad mentioned to me the other day about a job opening in the town over the hills.  Since the music business is being sold down here.  I was just wondering what you though about...... maybe ...... relocating?" She starting playing with her bangles, a usual nervous thing.

Zander moved over to his beautiful woman and put his arm around her, he sat there looking into her eyes. They had been through the most horrible things that one family should never go through.  They had two beautiful children that made their bond that much solid.

"You know, something in me really wants to say know.  That we should stay here, and that we can make this work.  Deep down this house is only wood, my heart is with you always.  I know it will be better for us to go, I don't want our kids to have to listen to the stories.  I don't want them to know till they are at least 60 and have their own kids.  But I also want a place where we can live and be our selves and not have to answer silly questions.  You need to play your music to sooth your soul.  I can grow plants anywhere, and lets face it, we need a bigger house."
Ana giggled. "You know, I think that is most I have heard you say..... like ever."
Zander just smiled at her.

Zander set work on the last meal in his house ever, it was decided that they would move tomorrow.  That night they were going to look for houses and if they couldn't find one they would stay in a motel.  It would be too hard on Vett if they let him stay at the current school, he would make close friendships and it would not be fair to move.

He really was not sure if this was the best idea. But he threw his dreams out the window, the day he decided to love Ana.  None of this was never her fault.  It makes him sort of glad he never had a family himself.  One thing he knows, is his kids will NEVER have that life.

They sat down as a family for dinner.  It had been a long time since even the two adults has.  Vett was yappering on about this boy at school and how he was such a bully and picked on this other dude with freckles and red hair.  He turned red and looked at this mothers hair.  "Sorry Mum." he said and continued to chow down his spaghetti.  Ana giggled and carried on to tell him about moving town.
"YAY." Vett shouted can I pick my room?
Zander smiled at his sons excitement. "You can have the next pick, after we choose our room."

"I hope there is a good fishing spot close by." Zander said.

Ana thought that this was the best plan her father had ever thought of, probably the only one.

It had been a big day so Ana read Vett a story and kissed him good night.  Gave Kiwi a bottle and tucked her into her crib.  It was time to spend some much needed alone time with her husband.

"You know your the most amazing guy that ever existed, and you are damn sexy." Ana said as she pounced on Zander.

"Just shut up and kiss me." Zander said, as she pulled his face close.

The next day they had the house packed up.  It was time to say good bye to the memories and goodbye to a home that was built with love.  Hello to whatever life throws at them.

Chapter 9: Touch and go.

Ana's pregnancy went by really fast. With that she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. She really could not believe how fast life was going. She thought she would miss Rue and the boys more then she had. Rodrigo come bye every so often, but he was growing up and had a girlfriend.   I think it is fair to say that when those kind of things happen, aunts are not as important anymore.  Coy just drew distant, I guess it was just too hard without his mother around. 

Vance still comes over for a good old Jam session, usually on special occasions such as the kids birthday. Vance likes to nag at his daughter about getting married, but she will not budge to her it is a bad omen. Even her younger twin sisters are married with kids (I guess I should of got pics of them BEFORE the meltdown >.< Don't hurt me)

So here is our little Vett, He is brave and a tad on the neurotic side. But he is the child that Ana has always wanted, side stepping the little insecurities. The blond must be a back lash from Vance.??

Because Kiwi is too. This little darling HATES the water, but she is also perceptive. She finds the most odd things, like, say, her boogers.

 

Birthdays come....... (Obviously I went backwards)

Then Mrs fix it upgrades the shower, she was so sick and tire of it FREAKEN BREAKING all the damn time.

Fathers decide to visit and he has a wee play with his grandchildren, he probably has about 10 of the buggers now. But he loves them all the same.

But, this was no social visit.

He is here to give Ana some news.. .. .. He is unsure if he really wants to tell her.

He tells her all about Alric and how he has changed his life. Vance fidgets with his hands the whole time. 

Ana takes her father into her arms. She is indeed a bit shocked to find out her father is gay after the death of her mother, but she is ok with that. As long as he is happy for the rest of his life, there is nothing to be ashamed of. 

"So, I seen there is a job in the town just over the hills. They are looking for some talented symphonists." Vance through in there. "Your talent is being wasted here my love, I can put in the word for you."

"Your selling the business ain't you Dad." Ana replied smiling.

"Yes." He said. Ana thought that everything was just going too fast. Zander would not want to leave would he?



"I will have a think about it and get back to you, I know that it would be a fantastic opportunity but I really don't think I can leave everyone behind."

A father smiled at his daughter know that the best place for her, was to leave here, even though he did not have much time. She was always the free spirit. But it was time that ankle brace come off.

"Would you like to stay for cake? It just so happens to be Vetts birthday." Ana asked as she left the room.

......so then there was another birthday.


Look how Handsome he is!



As all this went on, Ana never though twice about what her father told her. Except she wondered when she gets to meet this Alric (apparently he is like 40 something) As she was teaching her daughter how to walk in the warm summer evening, she would never think those things the silly anti-gay people say.


 Then when everyone was in bed and she started to think more of things. Maybe Vance was right, maybe maybe maybe..... MAYBE it is time to talk to Zander.......
